Overview:
As an Engineering Technical Lead you will play an instrumental role in the design, development, and overall product life cycle of Eagle Eagle Eye Network’s flagship devices and services. As an individual contributor on our Agile delivery teams, you will be charged with engineering solutions to some of our most technical challenges while serving as a domain expert who can inform the efforts of team members working elsewhere in our stack. Utilizing acquired deep technical mastery of our existing software, you will be responsible for ongoing product maintenance, new feature development, and deciding when and where to apply new technologies to better serve our customer’s needs. As a thought leader, you will also be expected to influence and inform business decisions from a technical perspective and choose the right technologies and methodologies to support our business goal.. A start-up mindset is required as we are always looking for creative ways to take on and solve new challenges
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 5-8 Years of systems level software engineering with demonstrated history of hands-on technical leadership.
- Expert level skills in massively scalable distributed systems, event driven multithreaded state machines using C/C++, Rust, Python or Go utilizing Linux APIs (e.g. glib, libev, pthreads, etc), Linux system management, including network configuration, package management, and hardware configuration and high-performance network programming
- Knowledge of GNU auto* toolkit (automake, autoconf, etc), container technologies, video processing, transcoding, Graphics, Linux embedded and software package management systems are a plus.
- Experience and passion for working in an agile development environment with demonstrated thought leadership on how to refactor key systems while operating in a CI/CD pipeline.
- Understanding and expertise in the security, surveillance, or IOT domains is a huge plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be Equally capable of successful debating deep technical challenges with our CTO as mentoring more junior engineers on the less challenging subject matter.
