Secret Service At Work

September 13, 2014 Hans Kahler

Vice President Joe Biden came to Austin Friday. (story here) He had a meeting at Brazos Hall, which is directly behind our office and shares an alley with our building. This is the same alley that we have seen countless interesting, funny and scary things happen in. We were hoping to get some interesting footage of the Veep and his people, since one of our cameras points directly at the back door of the Hall. However, the Secret Service had other ideas.

2014-09-12 11.09.59 It’s understandable that they wouldn’t want there to be any recordings of the security operations. On one hand I’m impressed with their ingenuity, on the other I hope that it is just a simple Red Solo Cup with tape and not an $800 “Anti-Surveillance Device” that was sold to them by some government contractor.
