Open platform

The Eagle Eye CameraManager platform is an open platform which can be integrated by third party developers. Partners can create their own mobile and web applications based on the CameraManager Cloud. Partners are integrating Eagle Eye CameraManager into their own mobile app.

MobileSDK

The MobileSDKv2 is the new version of the MobileSDK. With the MobileSDKv2 partners can search the network for cameras, add cameras, and view video. The new version of the MobileSDK comes with h.264 decoding instead of the MJPEG stream in version 1. With h.264 the video quality dramatically increases while reducing the required bandwidth. Depending on the footage the required bandwidth can be reduced up to 20x.

MobileSDK – Adding cameras

With the MobileSDK, partners can search for Cloudcams on the local network. API partners don’t have to worry about networking protocols or networking configuration. The end user simply has to make sure the mobile device is in the same local network and the cameras and hit “Add”. After that the MobileSDK is taking care of adding and configuring the camera.

In the MobileSDK, there is a library for sniffing the network, adding the cameras, and an open source example implementation. Below are several screenshots of the example application. Third party developers only have to worry about changing the UI and integrating it in their own application.

MobileSDK – Live stream and recordings

Next to the libraries for sniffing the network and adding cameras there is a library for streaming video. This can used for both live video and recordings. The MobileSDK is taking care of streaming and decoding the video. In the example application are features for play, stop the video, and for fullscreen. For recordings there is an example implementation with a time slider. This functionality makes it easy for the user to  jump to the correct video.

Developer Portal

The MobileSDK can be found on developer.cameramanager.com including documentation on how to use it. The developer portal also contains information on other building blocks for third party developers. MobileSDKv2 works great together with the CameraManager REST API.
