Get it all in one platform or add to your existing VMS.
Eagle Eye Gun Detection lives in the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS so you can do everything in one easy-to-use interface. But if you are not an Eagle Eye customer, you can add Gun Detection to your current surveillance system. It’s completely up to you.
How Eagle Eye Gun Detection is different

Triple-layer verification
The system uses two machine-learning models and human review for high accuracy with reduced false alerts.

Unmatched reliability
Our AI models use millions of data points from thousands of environments to ensure accuracy and continued improvement.

Rapid alerts and notifications
Once verified, alerts are sent to your designated contacts and security team in near real-time.

Human-initiated response
Alerts are sent to a partnered professional monitoring center to assess the situation and dispatch law enforcement.

Seamless integration
Works with existing security infrastructures to automate immediate threat responses and lockdown procedures.
How Eagle Eye Gun Detection helps keep people safe
Spotting a brandished gun on premises automatically can gain you crucial seconds to react, right when that time is most needed.
Many people don’t immediately report a gun due to uncertainty or fear of personal risk. The Eagle Eye Cloud VMS sends alerts to staff or trained professionals who can engage law enforcement directly.
How Gun Detection works
An AI system trained to spot guns examines a scene in real time and reduce the chance of false alarms. When a threat is spotted, the system immediately passes on the information.
- Camera video is continually examined frame by frame, and an object recognition analytic running on an on-site bridge is used to identify specific objects, based on millions of data points. Each bridge can support multiple cameras running gun-detection analytics.
- In the case of Eagle Eye Gun Detection, only detected guns that are brandished (actually in a person’s hand) are called out for further analysis.
- Initial gun identification is immediately followed by both automated and live verification to virtually eliminate false alarms.
How AI improves Gun Detection
In the task of detecting weapons, AI camera systems have advantages that make them the best first line of defense.
- Human observers can’t always be available to watch for guns, and their attention may be divided across the areas they need to cover. Cameras can function 24 hours a day, and from multiple vantage points within a room.
- In-person observers close enough to spot a gun might be in no position to report it without putting themselves in danger, or might be reluctant to report a gun if they’re not certain about what they’ve seen.
- The cameras that enable AI detection and verification also enable live analysis by human observers.
Triple-layer verification for maximum accuracy
If a gun is detected on premises, it may set into motion actions intended to maximize safety. However, false alarms may be disruptive and expensive, or trigger a dangerous overreaction. So verification is a vital component of practical gun detection.

Rapid processing on-site
Bridge-based analytics is performed on-site to identify a suspected firearm in real-time.

Advanced cloud review
A powerful cloud AI model analyzes suspected firearms for increased accuracy.

Human verification
A trained specialist performs a visual review of the footage and makes a final determination.
Once the presence of a gun has been verified, the designated security team is alerted to assess the situation and initiate intervention procedures.
