CMVRs Scale to 500 ONVIF IP Security Cameras, 30 days on-site & unlimited cloud video recording

AUSTIN, Texas. September 30, 2014 – Eagle Eye Networks, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of their expanded Eagle Eye Cloud Managed Video Recorder (CMVR) appliance line. The Eagle Eye CMVRs are fully managed from the Eagle Eye Security Camera VMS located in the cloud, and provide for large amounts of on-premise video recording. The CMVR line will support from 15 to 500 IP cameras, with an on-premise storage capacity of up to 30 days or more.

The Eagle Eye CMVR’s provide complete flexibility as to which cameras will be recorded locally and which will be recorded in the cloud. The 100% web-based user interface on the Eagle Eye Security Camera VMS provides this control. As business needs shift, the cloud retention period can be changed at any time. The Eagle Eye Security Camera VMS will then ensure the same smooth experience independent of where the video is recorded or where the user is located.

“The Eagle Eye CMVR is a new class of on-site appliance which makes cloud video surveillance scalable to larger camera installations that need on-premise storage,” said Dean Drako, President and CEO of Eagle Eye Networks. “Companies can take full advantage of the cloud-managed Eagle Eye Security Camera VMS, our easy to use interface, the comprehensive mobile apps, and our built in central management — even if they do not want to send all their video the cloud.”

Cloud Managed Video Recorders – Scaling Cloud Video Surveillance for Larger Camera Systems

CMVRs are for organizations that have a large number of cameras in a single location and do not wish to send all the video to the cloud. The CMVRs receive and analyze the video streams from the cameras, and provide local recording as well as buffering for bandwidth management. They detect any camera issues, and automatically transmit camera and system status information to the cloud data center. The CMVRs provide a high level of security by encrypting all the traffic to the cloud.
