Eagle Eye Networks and Brivo organized a special event on Wednesday in the context of developments in the cloud and security. Under the motto “The hockey stick effect in Cloud Security” everything was told about the current state of affairs in Cloud Video Security and Cloud Access Control.

The hockey stick itself is known from sport and the hockey stick effect is a term from the business world. The bottom line is that a new development often requires a lot of time to be accepted, after which a huge growth suddenly occurs. A well-known example from the security industry is the IP camera. In the first few years nobody believed that this would be a success and now this technology has virtually displaced the analog camera. According to Eagle Eye Networks, this is also going to happen with cloud.

Integral
Up to now, Eagle Eye Networks has focused on camera surveillance in the cloud, but with the introduction of Brivo in the Benelux, access control has been added. During the event it was shown how both techniques can be integrally combined. For example, to get camera images if a door is left open for too long or if someone with an invalid pass tries to gain access. Especially for this Steve van Till, founder and CEO of Brivo had come to the Netherlands from the US.

Innovations
Rishi Lodhia said about what the cloud can offer for video surveillance. The managing director of Eagle Eye Networks EMEA has already provided the video security industry with innovations several times. He not only developed one of the world’s first cloud-based video security platforms (CameraManager), but also the first 4G / LTE video security camera. The latest developments were explained by Jeroen Alberts and Ed Broeders from Eagle Eye Networks and Brivo.

Applicable
The location of the hockey stadium of the ladies ‘team of’ s Hertogenbosch was very appropriate. Head coach Raoul Ehren gave an interesting speech about the different meaning of the hockey stick. The trainer has been at the top of both Dutch and international hockey for 20 years and has won a total of thirteen national titles. The day ended with a tour of the stadium and a walking dinner.
