Differences Between Eagle Eye Networks and Verkada
FLEXIBILITY
A key difference between the two systems is their compatibility with other hardware and software. The Verkada system only works with Verkada cameras, access control devices, and alarms. Eagle Eye Networks VMS is built to work with hundreds of camera manufacturers allowing the greatest choice and flexibility of any system on the market.
An existing surveillance system can move to the cloud with Eagle Eye VMS without replacing any existing cameras, whereas a Verkada system will require the purchase of new Verkada cameras to make the same switch. Similarly the Eagle Eye VMS is an open API platform, meaning that it can integrate easily with other applications to create a holistic security system that includes cloud video surveillance. A Verkada system, which operates from their Command platform, only works with other Verkada products.
The Eagle Eye VMS also offers flexibility to adjust retention time. Eagle Eye users can adjust retention for each camera at any time, from a few days to 10 years. Verkada retention must be selected when purchasing each individual camera with additional costs tied to longer retention.
