This month’s cover story — State of the Market: Video Surveillance (link) — begins our annual State of the Market Series, starting with the outlook for the video surveillance market last year and this year. And despite a year many security dealers and integrators have described as “flat” as well as concerns about ongoing supply chain issues and fears of an economic downturn, video surveillance remains a bright spot for many.
As Senior Editor Rodney Bosch writes, “The general optimism expressed by (SDM 2023 Industry Forecast) survey respondents is reflected in rising sector revenues. For example, 76 percent expect revenue from video surveillance systems (on-premise and cloud-based) to increase in 2023, up 12 percentage points from the previous year.”
