Eagle Eye Anywhere cabinets: Now even more flexible

July 2, 2025 Timothy Lord

Eagle Eye Anywhere Cabinet Systems set a new standard: Every Anywhere cabinet is a single-box solution for always-on, globally accessible, AI-backed video surveillance. Anywhere Cabinets work even in rugged conditions and locations with no wired internet and no source of mains power, thanks to wireless data transfer and built-in solar power capabilities.

In many parts of the world, solar power has the advantages of long-term reliability and independence from the grid. Even a single panel, properly situated, can supply enough power for many typical installs — and with two panels, even quite extreme locations can have enough power. But there are situations where there is available AC power, and solar isn’t the right way to go, for one reason or another:

  • For deployments where solar panels are at a high risk of vandalism or theft.
  • In places where challenging weather and environmental conditions mean that solar panels may face a shortened lifespan. High winds, salt spray, and temperature extremes can all cause negative impacts.
  • Where solar panels don’t get enough direct sunlight due to tree density or other factors, so more panels would be needed.
  • In space-constrained areas where nearby buildings make solar panel installation difficult or building codes rule them out. Each panel takes some room, and requires secure mounting.
  • In environments where solar panels detract from aesthetics.

Run this up the flagpole

With the Anywhere External Power Supply, a utility pole with AC power for lights can also readily power an Anywhere Cabinet system, giving you the other advantages of a cabinet-mounted camera (ruggedness and flexible mounting) without the need to install or maintain a solar panel. That’s true, too, even if the power available isn’t from a typical 120-220V source. The External Power Supply can operate with anything from 90-305VAC, including the 277V light-pole standard, delivering a consistent 24V of DC current.

And just as a solar panel serves to replenish an on-board battery for nighttime operations, the external power supply also powers the cabinet system by charging its battery rather than by supplying its power directly. That means your cameras can remain powered on and transmitting video even if a storm — or a backhoe — temporarily knocks out your available AC power. An added benefit: Once connected, an AC source does not require the kind of seasonal adjustments that solar panels may.

Because the external power supply uses industry-standard MC4 connections — matching the inputs used by the Anywhere Cabinet systems— you can easily switch between the external power supply and a solar panel if your needs change.

The new external power supply is just one way that we’re innovating with our entire family of Cabinet Systems to bring video surveillance everywhere you need it.
