Cloud is No Longer a Future Business Goal, It’s an Immediate Business Need

The current COVID-19 pandemic has illuminated the need to accelerate the shift to the cloud, leading to a noticeable increase in the demand for cloud-based video surveillance systems. At Eagle Eye Networks, we’ve identified several trends driving the shift from on-site video surveillance systems to cloud video surveillance solutions.
Switching to remote work has presented many new challenges for business owners and operators, highlighting unexpected areas where technology improvements were necessary to continue business as usual. To compensate for the inability to physically be on-site, many turned to their video surveillance systems to remotely manage and view their business. This presented the following challenges:
“The Eagle Eye Cloud VMS gave us significant peace of mind during the pandemic. With the Eagle Eye Cloud VMS mobile application, we were able to seamlessly switch between 1,800 cameras and 115 United Planet Fitness locations with no disruption.
The analytics in the application, such as People Counting and Intrusion Detection, were also crucial for us during this time. We were able to see and receive alerts when people went into areas that were off-limits or when too many people were congregating in common areas, like the check-in counter. Getting these real-time alerts made it possible to ensure safe distances were being maintained, and that each of our locations were adhering to CDC guidelines.
We also felt at ease knowing that we could decrease retention or adjust resolutions in real-time. In an event like a pandemic, this provided us a quick and easy way to decrease costs without compromising our video surveillance solution.”
