About a decade ago, Mexico City authorities decided to launch its multi-year Safe City (Ciudad Segura) initiative, to improve the effectiveness of police and other emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven years after Safe City was launched, the official figures reflected the impact of the initiative \u2013 crime rates were down by 56%; car theft was down 58%; average response time was reduced from 12 to 2 minutes; and insurance premiums were down by 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.securityinfowatch.com\/integrators\/article\/21142587\/mexico-city-is-a-secured-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the full article<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In the News<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Covered on these news sites.
